Time has come to set up my works in Galerija Stolp at Bled castle. It was such an intense road that led me up to this point, so much doubting, resistance, wanting to quit the whole thing, you name it. But why? Why do we do this to ourselves? Well, I know why, bellow all this BS is a very scared ego mind that thinks everything will just explode if we go and do something out of our usual ways. (That’s the really short version of the why and I am sure you know what I am talking about, so let’s leave it like this.)
I pulled myself through by knowing I will not be exhibiting only brand “new” works. I gave myself permission to display some sort of retrospective show - like my mom suggested when she first heard of the fact I will be having a solo exhibition to which I replied of course not, I will make new things! :D Lol, little did I know how much that sentence, that thought, will freeze me up.
So I pulled one of my digital fractals from my first show back in 2006 and then kept adding pieces I have accumulated since and that were made mainly for various ex tempore competitions. Which I did quite a few as it turned out. I wish I was able to obtain my beautiful award winning watercolor piece but it was (almost) impossible to get so I let go of the idea. I would never thought that would be the case though.

More than half of the paintings and drawings are from 2024 and 2025 so all is good, excellent even, and the whole thing turned out quite beautifully in the end if I may say so myself :)
There was even quite a bit of magic involved because the gallery space was newly re-painted and a very handy hook appeared right where it was needed.
So, if you happen to find yourself in Bled, Slovenia these days, you can catch my works in person up in the castle. It’s the oldest castle in Slovenia and the view from the terraces is beyond gorgeous. Castle is nested above lake Bled and in the distance, you can see Alps and forests and well… what can I say, it is clearly one of my favourite places to be.
And here’s a happy me during the frame adjusting and after putting up the biggest portal I’ve painted till now.
I am so grateful to my friends Katarina and Maša for all the support and for helping me with all the logistics and hard work with setting things up and Andreja for the super helpful trolley. We still have to get everything down but that’s not here yet so let’s enjoy the in-between ;)
If you need an invitation to the exhibition, here it is, I would love to see you there:
I will share more photos in my next post - whenever that might be :D
With much love,
♡
