This year I decided to omit the daily sketchbook routine as I knew it last year - which was one sketch a day for mostly all year - and replace it with a slower going pace. This gives me an opportunity to really work on my drawings or experiments and taking them much further than anything I did before. It is interesting to observe how this practice gives me much more fulfillment but I do miss the consistency and the feeling of accomplishment of daily drawing practice. I will however stay happy about the fact, that I am being creative on almost daily basis meaning, I am either drawing, painting or needle felting or even sculpting tiny things that I need for my needle felting. Which is a big win and I am making progress for my Project Bled so all is good. Why am I so eager to dismiss any small achievements? That’s crazy and I will change this!
I am currently working on two smaller wool-y pieces and in-between I managed to draw something graphite-y in my sketchbook, which I don’t think is finished either. I would like to test something out so I will probably share more in my next update.
There is another thing I am doing differently this year which is, I will be using eight handmade journals through out the year. My Magical December Journal is just so good as an intention holder that I missed doing it in January because I decided to switch to eight of them for the more seasonal ones. I am talking about 8 seasons through out the year as observed in pagan times because I am feeling this connection with the nature more and more and really, January never felt like the New Year to me anyway. I now know why because I reconnected to the more witchy part of me and I am loving it.
I just have to share the above cutie pies because they came out so well and I am so proud of myself for starting to needle felt again. Lots has happened because of this decision and lots more still will!
I am slowly slowly finding my pace here too…. blogging as I used to do it feels good. Sharing what I made gives me an opportunity to document what I created and it gives you the opportunity to see, what I actually do :)
These two are from my sketchbook and I am loving the diversity that is flowing out of me lately. I am also doing a few classes but they don’t get so much attention as they should although I made two images because of one of them. This is quite an accomplishment as well given my record in actually doing something from the classes I watch :D
So this is it for now. See you soon. Wishing you lots of magical and creative days!
With much love,
♡
Nina
I feel you are like me in that you can and are capable of so much creativity. We have to temper ourselves against burn out ! I too love a daily practice but it's not as special sometimes if we do it constantly. We need a break to appreciate ourselves and our capabilities. Your felt pieces are fabulous! 😍
Love to you,
Shalagh
